چکیده

Abstract Two methods for extraction of the effective tensor surface impedance representing metasurfaces with printed elements and arbitrary geometry are presented. The can be modelled as a shunt admittance on transmission line. extracted combined line theory enables to compute easily efficiently coefficient through multilayer metasurface structure. modelling conduct multi‐parameter study reflection performance results proposed compared, very good agreement was obtained up 30° incident angle. Beyond it is suggested recalibrate model or upgrade it. For validation purposes, 2D flat lens antenna patch loaded capacitors designed, fabricated, measured. Simulation experimental near far‐field

Enhancing spoof surface-plasmons with gradient metasurfaces

The coupling between surface plasmons and free electrons may be used to amplify waves or accelerate particles. Nonetheless, such an interaction is usually weak due to the small interaction length or velocity mismatching. Here a mechanism for enhancing the coupling between plasmonic fields and relativistic electrons is proposed. By using a weakly gradient meta-surface that supports the spoof sur...

Modelling cell motility and chemotaxis with evolving surface finite elements.

We present a mathematical and a computational framework for the modelling of cell motility. The cell membrane is represented by an evolving surface, with the movement of the cell determined by the interaction of various forces that act normal to the surface. We consider external forces such as those that may arise owing to inhomogeneities in the medium and a pressure that constrains the enclose...

Smooth Surface Reconstruction Using Tensor Fields as Structuring Elements

We propose a new strategy to estimate surface normal information from highly noisy sparse data. Our approach is based on a tensor field morphologically adapted to infer normals. It acts as a three-dimensional structuring element of smooth surfaces. Robust orientation inference for all input elements is performed by morphological operations using the tensor field. A general normal estimator is d...

Near-field surface plasmons on quasicrystal metasurfaces

Excitation and manipulation of surface plasmons (SPs) are essential in developing cutting-edge plasmonic devices for medical diagnostics, biochemical spectroscopy and communications. The most common approach involves designing an array of periodic slits or grating apertures that enables coupling of the incident light to the SP modes. In recent years, plasmonic resonances, including extraordinar...
